As many of you know, Chad and I were married this past spring on May 31, 2009. What an amazing blessing marriage has been! Marriage is wonderful, but that is not to say that once you’re married you live life on a 24/7 “high.” There have certainly been some moments of adjustment…always “laughable moments” in retrospectJ. For example, I prefer to go to bed at 9:00 p.m. on weeknights and Chad would stay up until 11:30 every night if he could; “church hopping” has become a regular weekend activity as we prayerfully search for the church we can call home and get connected and grow; the ultimate endeavor has been juggling family life with our daughter and work, moving into a new home, being newlyweds, and keeping up with all of the activities we enjoy so much – running, spending time with family and friends, rollerblading, etc…J But, you know what? It’s all worth it! We are perfectly imperfect! I can honestly say that I married a man who holds my utmost trust and respect, and I am thrilled beyond my wildest dreams to have Chad by my side to “do life” with!

I hope you don’t mind, but I’d like to take this opportunity at the launching of this website to tell Chad (and you) how proud I am of him.

Chad,
I’ve known you since we were both in middle school, and I’ve had a lot of time to build evidence that speaks for your faith, character, and integrity. Over our long history of knowing one another, you have proven to be a man who is true to himself and his faith, who demonstrates strong character and integrity in his interactions with others, and to top it all of, a man who is authentic in his relationships with God and with others.
Now, some of you who know me well know that I am not a person to give trust or respect to another person very easily. In fact, Chad would agree that early in our marriage I have sometimes found it difficult to give even him the trust and respect he deserves as my husband! But, Chad, despite my resistance to “submit,” you have continued to show me the leadership and consistency of character I have seen in you over the 16 years I have known you..

I love your heart and your desire to seek the Lord and to share with others the perspectives and insight He places on your heart. You have taken the desire God has planted in your heart – to start a ministry that speaks to everyday people in the midst of their everyday lives – and stepped forward in faith to embark on the journey that has brought you to the Running With Wings Ministry and the launching of this new website. What a great place this will be for believers to form a sense of community through fellowship, encouragement, and accountability! It’s amazing to me how far this ministry has come when you didn’t (and still don’t!) even know exactly what direction God had in mind for it. I know that it will continue to grow and bless many lives, and I anxiously anticipate watching this faith journey unfold. I can’t wait to share with you in the discovery of God’s many blessings!
I love you, Chad Michael Young, and I couldn’t be happier or prouder to be by your side as your wife, walking, no RUNNING, toward the goal of living life in the fullness of Christ! Congratulations on the launching of Running With Wings website and the beginning of a blessed journey!
